Āśvamedhika Parva, Adhyāya 77 — Saindhava resistance, Arjuna’s restraint, and Duḥśalā’s supplication
शशं चाशु विनिर्भिद्य मण्डलं शशिनो5पतत् । विपरीता दिशश्वापि सर्वा धूमाकुलास्तथा
śaśaṃ cāśu vinirbhidya maṇḍalaṃ śaśino ’patat | viparītā diśaś cāpi sarvā dhūmākulās tathā ||
বৈশম্পায়ন বললেন—উল্কাগুলি দ্রুত চাঁদের শশচিহ্ন বিদীর্ণ করে চন্দ্রমণ্ডলের চারদিকে পতিত হল। সমস্ত দিক ধোঁয়ায় আচ্ছন্ন হয়ে উল্টো-উল্টো মনে হতে লাগল—এ ছিল জগতে অনিষ্ট ও ধর্মবিচ্যুতির ভয়ংকর লক্ষণ।
