Pitṛ-śrāddha-haviḥ-phala-nirdeśa
Offerings for Ancestors and Their Stated Results
स हि नैव सम देवानां नासुराणां न रक्षसाम् । वध्य: स्यामिति जग्राह वरं त्वत्त: पितामह,पितामह! उसने आपसे यह वरदान प्राप्त कर लिया है कि देवताओं, असुरों तथा राक्षसोंमेंसे किसीके हाथसे भी मारा न जाऊँ
sa hi naiva sama devānāṁ nāsurāṇāṁ na rakṣasām | vadhyaḥ syām iti jagrāha varaṁ tvattaḥ pitāmaha, pitāmaha |
ভীষ্ম বললেন— “পিতামহ! সে আপনার কাছ থেকে এই বর লাভ করেছে— ‘দেবতা, অসুর কিংবা রাক্ষস— কারও হাতে যেন আমি নিহত না হই।’”
