Origin and Supremacy of Gold as Ritual Fee
गुणवचनसमुच्चयैकदेशो नृवर मयैष गवां प्रकीर्तितस्ते । न च परमिह दानमस्ति गोभ्यो भवति न चापि परायणं तथान्यत्
guṇavacanasamuccayaikadeśo nṛvara mayaiva eṣa gavāṁ prakīrtitas te | na ca param iha dānam asti gobhyo bhavati na cāpi parāyaṇaṁ tathā anyat ||
বসিষ্ঠ বললেন— হে নরশ্রেষ্ঠ! গাভীদের গুণগান-সংকলনের আমি তোমাকে কেবল এক ক্ষুদ্র অংশই বলেছি—মাত্র ইঙ্গিত। এই জগতে গোদান অপেক্ষা শ্রেষ্ঠ দান নেই, এবং তাদের তুল্য আর কোনো আশ্রয়ও নেই।
