महर्षि वशिष्ठका राजा सौदाससे गौओंका माहात्म्य-कथन युवानमिन्द्रियोपेतं शतेन शतयूथपम्‌ । गवेन्द्रं ब्राह्मणेन्द्राय भूरिशंगमलड्कृतम्‌

Transliteration

yuvānam indriyopetaṁ śatena śatayūthapam | gavendraṁ brāhmaṇendrāya bhūriśaṅgam alaṅkṛtam ||

Translation

ভীষ্ম বললেন—শত্রুদমনকারী রাজন! যারা যুবক, সকল ইন্দ্রিয়সম্পন্ন, শত গো-দলের নেতা, বৃহৎ শৃঙ্গধারী গবেন্দ্র বৃষভকে সুসজ্জিত করে শত গাভীসহ শ্রোত্রিয় ব্রাহ্মণকে দান করে, তারা যখন-যখন এই জগতে জন্মায়, তখন-তখন মহৎ ঐশ্বর্যের অধিকারী হয়।
