क्वचिदप्सरसां संघान्‌ गन्धर्वाणां च पार्थिव

Transliteration

kvacid apsarasāṃ saṅghān gandharvāṇāṃ ca pārthiva | pṛthvīnātha! kvacid jhuṇḍa-kī-jhuṇḍa apsarāḥ vihāraṃ kurvanti sma | kvacid gandharvāṇāṃ samudāyāḥ svapriyatamānām āliṅgana-pāśe baddhāḥ santi sma | tān sarvān rājā dadarśa | te kadācid enaṃ dṛśyante sma kadācin na dṛśyante sma ||

Translation

ভীষ্ম বললেন—হে রাজন, পৃথিবীনাথ! কোথাও অপ্সরাদের দল আনন্দে ক্রীড়া করছিল; কোথাও গন্ধর্বদের গোষ্ঠী প্রিয়তমাদের আলিঙ্গন-পাশে আবদ্ধের মতো ছিল। রাজা তাদের সকলকে দেখলেন—কখনও দেখতে পেলেন, আবার কখনও পেলেন না।
