पात्रलक्षण-परिक्षा (Pātra-Lakṣaṇa Parīkṣā) — Criteria for a Worthy Recipient
पृथिव्युवाच ब्राह्मणानेव सेवेत पवित्र होतदुत्तमम् । ब्राह्मणान् सेवमानस्य रज: सर्व प्रणश्यति । अतो भूतिरत: कीर्तिरितो बुद्धि: प्रजायते
pṛthivy uvāca brāhmaṇān eva seveta pavitraṃ hy etad uttamam | brāhmaṇān sevamānasya rajaḥ sarvaṃ praṇaśyati | ato bhūtir ataḥ kīrtir ito buddhiḥ prajāyate ||
পৃথিবী বললেন—ভগবন! এর জন্য মানুষের উচিত ব্রাহ্মণদেরই সেবা করা; এটাই সর্বাধিক পবিত্র ও শ্রেষ্ঠ কর্ম। ব্রাহ্মণসেবায় রত ব্যক্তির সমস্ত রজোগুণ বিনষ্ট হয়। এর থেকেই ঐশ্বর্য, এর থেকেই কীর্তি, এবং এর থেকেই উত্তম বুদ্ধির জন্ম হয়।
