यथा ह्ुपस्थितैश्वर्या: प्रजायन्ते न राजसा: । एवमेवात्मना5७त्मानं पूजयन्तीह धार्मिका:
yathā hy upasthitaiśvaryāḥ prajāyante na rājasāḥ | evam evātmanātmānaṃ pūjayantīha dhārmikāḥ ||
ভীষ্ম বললেন—যেমন যাদের ঐশ্বর্য ইতিমধ্যেই প্রতিষ্ঠিত, তারা রজোগুণপ্রসূত উন্মত্ত সাধনায় পুনর্জন্ম কামনা করে না; তেমনি ধার্মিকেরা এখানে আত্মা দ্বারা আত্মাকেই পূজিত করে। ধর্মানুশীলনের দ্বারা, নিজ প্রচেষ্টায়, তারা অন্তঃসত্তাকে উচ্চ অবস্থায় উন্নীত করে—যেন রজের প্রাবল্যে আবার জন্ম-মৃত্যুর চক্রে না পড়ে।
