अध्याय १६ — शङ्कर-उमा-वरदानम् तथा तण्डि-स्तुतिः (Śaṅkara–Umā Boon-Granting and Taṇḍi’s Hymn)
दशनामसहस््राणि देवेष्वाह पितामह: । शर्वस्य शास्त्रेषु तथा दशनामशतानि च,पितामह ब्रह्माने पूर्वकालमें देवताओंके निकट महादेवजीके दस हजार नाम बताये थे और शास््त्रोंमें भी उनके सहस्र नाम वर्णित हैं
daśanāmasahasrāṇi deveṣv āha pitāmahaḥ | śarvasya śāstreṣu tathā daśanāmaśatāni ca ||
পিতামহ ব্রহ্মা পূর্বকালে দেবগণের নিকট শর্ব (মহাদেব)-এর দশ হাজার নাম ঘোষণা করেছিলেন; তদ্রূপ শাস্ত্রসমূহেও তাঁর শত শত নাম বর্ণিত আছে।
