अध्याय १६ — शङ्कर-उमा-वरदानम् तथा तण्डि-स्तुतिः (Śaṅkara–Umā Boon-Granting and Taṇḍi’s Hymn)
यः प्राणवन्तमात्मानं ज्योतिर्जीवस्थितं मन: । त॑ देवं दर्शनाकाड्क्षी बहून् वर्षमणानूषि:
yaḥ prāṇavantaṃ ātmānaṃ jyotir-jīva-sthitaṃ manaḥ | taṃ devaṃ darśanākāṅkṣī bahūn varṣam anūṣiḥ ||
বায়ু বললেন—“যে ব্যক্তি নিজের অন্তরে প্রাণময় আত্মাকে—জীবন্ত জ্যোতিতে প্রতিষ্ঠিত মনকে—চিনে ফেলে, সে সেই দেবতত্ত্বের দর্শন কামনা করে; আর সেই আকাঙ্ক্ষার বলেই বহু বছর স্থিত থাকে।”
