Constant praise and remembrance of Vishnu—understood as the eternal, all-pervading Lord and overseer of the cosmos—enables a person to transcend suffering. The emphasis is on nityatā (steadiness/continuity) in devotion as a transformative practice.
In the Anushasana Parva’s instruction section, Bhishma is teaching about dharma and spiritual disciplines. Here he recommends sustained stuti of Vishnu, presenting it as a means to rise beyond the pains of worldly existence.
