आधारनिलयोअ<थधाता पुष्पहास: प्रजागर: । ऊर्ध्वग: सत्पथाचार: प्राणद: प्रणव: पण:
bhīṣma uvāca | ādhāra-nilayo 'dhātā puṣpa-hāsaḥ prajāgaraḥ | ūrdhva-gaḥ satpathācāraḥ prāṇa-daḥ praṇavaḥ paṇaḥ ||
ভীষ্ম বললেন—তিনি সকল ভূতের আশ্রয় ও নিবাস; স্বয়ংস্থিত, যাঁর ঊর্ধ্বে কোনো নির্মাতা নেই। তাঁর হাসি পুষ্পের মতো বিকশিত; তিনি সদা জাগ্রত, নিত্যপ্রবুদ্ধ। তিনি সর্বোচ্চে অধিষ্ঠিত এবং সৎপথের আচরণকে ধারণ ও প্রতিষ্ঠা করেন। তিনি প্রাণদাতা—পতিতকেও জীবন ফিরিয়ে দেন; তিনি নিজেই প্রণব ‘ওঁ’, এবং তিনি ‘পণ’—যিনি সকলের সঙ্গে যথাযথ ও ন্যায়সঙ্গত আচরণ করেন॥
