गार्ग्य उवाच
That a ‘supreme, hidden’ principle (rahasya) underlies and governs multiple domains of dharmic practice—ancestral śrāddha, offerings to the gods, pilgrimage observances, and rites performed on sacred parvan days—implying a unifying ethical-ritual standard rather than isolated ceremonies.
Gārgya, as the speaker, signals a transition into a more confidential or subtle instruction. He urges the listener(s) to grasp an important teaching that will be applied across several ritual contexts (śrāddha, daiva rites, tīrtha-related acts, and festival/parvan observances).
