आप ही प्राणियोंकी सृष्टि करते हैं, आप ही समस्त प्रजाका संहार करते हैं और आप ही मनुष्योंसहित सम्पूर्ण प्राणियोंकी सनातन प्रकृति (मूल कारण) हैं ।।
bhīṣma uvāca | samprahasya tato viṣṇur idaṃ vacanam abravīt | cakreṇa nihatā daityāḥ padbhyāṃ krāntā vasundharā | varāharūpaṃ dhṛtvā hiraṇyākṣo nipātitaḥ | vāmanabrāhmaṇarūpeṇa baliḥ jitavān mayā |
ভীষ্ম বললেন—তখন ভগবান বিষ্ণু হাসতে হাসতে বললেন—দেবরাজ! আমি চক্র দ্বারা দৈত্যদের নিধন করেছি; আমার দুই পদক্ষেপে পৃথিবী আচ্ছন্ন হয়েছে। বরাহরূপে আমি হিরণ্যাক্ষকে পতিত করেছি, আর বামন ব্রাহ্মণের রূপ ধারণ করে রাজা বলিকে বশ করেছি।
