एवं वै परम धर्म प्रशंसन्ति मनीषिण: । प्राणा यथा55त्मनो5भीष्टा भूतानामपि वै तथा

Transliteration

evaṁ vai parama-dharmaṁ praśaṁsanti manīṣiṇaḥ | prāṇā yathā ātmano ’bhīṣṭā bhūtānām api vai tathā ||

Translation

ভীষ্ম বললেন—এইভাবেই মনীষীরা অহিংসারূপ পরম ধর্মের প্রশংসা করেন। যেমন নিজের প্রাণ নিজের কাছে প্রিয়, তেমনই সকল প্রাণীর কাছেও তাদের নিজ নিজ প্রাণ প্রিয়।
