Tapas-śreṣṭhatā: Anāśana as the Highest Austerity

इन्द्रेण गुह्मां निहितं वै गुहायां यद्धार्गवस्तपसेहा भ्यविन्दत् । जाज्वल्यमानमुशनस्तेजसेह तत्साधयामासमहं वरेण्य
bhagīratha uvāca |
indreṇa guhyāṁ nihitaṁ vai guhāyāṁ yad bhārgavas tapasehābhyavindat |
jājvalyamānam uśanas tejaseha tat sādhayām āsa mahāṁ vareṇya ||
ভগীরথ বললেন—“যে গূঢ় বস্তু ইন্দ্র গোপনে এক গুহায় লুকিয়ে রেখেছিলেন, এবং যা ভার্গব মুনি এখানে তপস্যার দ্বারা লাভ করেছিলেন—উশনস্ (শুক্র)-এর তেজে দীপ্ত সেই জ্বলন্ত শক্তিকে, হে শ্রেষ্ঠ, আমিও সাধন করে অর্জন করেছি।”
