अब्रवीद्‌ भारतं॑ लोके मानुषे5स्मिन्‌ महानृषि: । जनमेजयेन पृष्ट: सन्‌ ब्राह्मणैश्व सहस्रश:

Transliteration

abravīd bhārataṁ loke mānuṣe 'smin mahānṛṣiḥ | janamejayena pṛṣṭaḥ san brāhmaṇaiś ca sahasraśaḥ ||

Translation

এই মানবলোকে মহর্ষি ‘ভারত’ প্রচার করলেন—রাজা জনমেজয়ের প্রশ্নে, এবং সহস্র সহস্র ব্রাহ্মণের পুনঃপুন জিজ্ঞাসায়। অতএব এই মহাকাব্য আন্তরিক অনুসন্ধানের উত্তরে প্রদত্ত পবিত্র উপদেশ, সমাজের ধর্ম ও আত্মিক পথনির্দেশের জন্য।
