Lord Vishnu (teaching Garuda)

Dosha: Vata

Concept: Embodied vāyu can localize, constrict channels (śirāḥ), and manifest specific named disorders; precise observation is a form of knowledge.

Vedantic Theme: Deha as upādhi: disturbances in prāṇa/vāyu affect the body-mind instrument, not the Self.

Application: Attend early to localized pain/weakness; avoid channel-obstructing habits; seek appropriate vāta-pacifying care when constriction and functional loss appear.

Primary Rasa: bibhatsa

Secondary Rasa: bhayanaka

FAQs

This verse defines bāhuka as a vāyu-origin disorder centered at the shoulder-root, characterized by constriction of śirā (vessels/nerves) and impaired outward flow/function.

It does not discuss the soul’s post-death journey; it functions as a medical teaching within the Purana, describing bodily mechanisms of disease in vāta pathology.

For shoulder/arm stiffness or weakness suggestive of vāta aggravation, prioritize vāta-pacifying routines (warmth, oil massage, regularity) and seek qualified clinical guidance.
