Dhruva’s War with the Yakṣas and the Protection of the Holy Name
tato niṣkramya balina upadeva-mahā-bhaṭāḥ asahantas tan-ninādam abhipetur udāyudhāḥ
Kuvera’s attendants, the Yakṣa warriors, come out in strength and charge forward with raised weapons, provoked by the loud uproar of the battle.
They could not tolerate the intense din and challenge of the conflict, so they emerged and attacked, escalating the confrontation described in this chapter.
When provoked by noise, insult, or agitation, people often react impulsively; this verse highlights how intolerance fuels escalation—encouraging restraint and clear judgment guided by dharma.
