He is described as a former Pāṇḍya king, the foremost among the Draviḍas, famed for being fully devoted to vows and observances dedicated to Lord Viṣṇu.
“Viṣṇu-vrata” refers to sacred vows, disciplines, and devotional observances performed specifically to please Lord Viṣṇu, indicating exclusive dedication to Him.
By adopting consistent, Viṣṇu-centered practices—such as regular prayer, ethical living, and devotional vows—so that one’s daily disciplines become an expression of steady bhakti.
