etat kalpa-vikalpasya pramāṇaṁ parikīrtitam yatra manvantarāṇy āhuś caturdaśa purāvidaḥ

Translation

হে রাজন, এক কল্প—অর্থাৎ ব্রহ্মার এক দিবসে—‘বিকল্প’ নামে বহু পরিবর্তন ঘটে; তার প্রমাণ আমি পূর্বেই বলেছি। পুরাণজ্ঞ পণ্ডিতেরা স্থির করেছেন যে ব্রহ্মার এক দিনে চৌদ্দ মন্বন্তর হয়।
