देवान् यन्नाथितो हुवे ब्रह्मचर्यं यदूषिम। अक्षान् यद् बभ्रूनालभे ते नो मृडन्त्वीदृशे

IAST Transliteration

devā́n yán nāthitó huvè brahmacaryáṃ yád ūṣím | akṣā́n yád babhrū́n ālabhé té no mṛḍantv īdṛ́śe ||

English Translation (Griffith/Whitney)

When, being in distress, I call upon the Gods; when I undertake the holy course of continence, when I enter upon the observance; when I lay hold upon the tawny dice—then may they be gracious unto us in such a case.

Translation

যখন আমি বিপদে পড়ে দেবতাদের আহ্বান করি; যখন আমি ব্রহ্মচর্য-ব্রত গ্রহণ করি; যখন আমি সেই নিয়মাচরণে (ব্রতে) প্রবৃত্ত হই; যখন আমি বভ্রু (তাম্রবর্ণ) অক্ষ/পাশা হাতে ধরি—তখন এমন অবস্থায় তাঁরা আমাদের প্রতি প্রসন্ন হোন।
