Sukta 3
अधा यथा नः पितरः परासः प्रत्नासो अग्न ऋतमाशशानाः । शुचीदयन् दीध्यत उक्थशासः क्षामा भिन्दन्तो अरुणीरप व्रन्
adhā́ yáthā naḥ pitáraḥ párāsaḥ pratnā́so agne ṛtám āśaśānā́ḥ | śucī́dayan dídhyata ukthaśā́saḥ kṣāmā́ bhindánto aruṇī́r ápa vran ||
Then, as our Fathers of old, the ancient ones, O Agni, longing for the Right, made pure and shone—hymn-declaimers—cleaving the earth, they drave away the ruddy (dawns) afar.
তখন, হে অগ্নি! যেমন আমাদের পিতৃগণ—প্রাচীনতম জন—ঋত (সত্য-নিয়ম) কামনা করে শুচি হয়ে দীপ্ত হয়েছিলেন; উক্থ-শাস (স্তোত্রোচ্চারক) হয়ে, পৃথিবী বিদীর্ণ করে, তারা অরুণী (রক্তবর্ণ ঊষা)কে দূরে তাড়িয়ে দিয়েছিল।
