Sukta 4
उतैनां भेदो नाददाद् वशामिन्द्रेण याचितः । तस्मात् तं देवा आगसोऽवृश्चन्नहमुत्तरे
utá enā́ṃ bhedó ná adadād vaśā́m índreṇa yācitáḥ | tasmā́t táṃ devā́ ā́gaso ’vṛścann ahám uttaré ||
Moreover, Bheda gave her not—the barren cow—though Indra himself had made request. Therefore the Gods, for his offense, cut him off; and I (declare it) in the after-time.
আর ভেদ ‘বশা’ (বন্ধ্যা গাভী) দেয়নি, যদিও ইন্দ্র নিজে প্রার্থনা করেছিলেন। তাই দেবগণ তার অপরাধের জন্য তাকে ছিন্ন করে দূরে সরিয়ে দিলেন; আর আমি এ কথা পরবর্তীকালে ঘোষণা করি।
