Sukta 5
९॥ विष्णोः क्रमोऽसि सपत्नहा कृषिसंशितोऽन्नतेजाः । कृषिमनु वि क्रमेऽहं कृष्यास्तं निर्भजामो यो३स्मान् द्वेष्टि यं वयं द्विष्मः । स मा जीवीत् तं प्राणो जहातु
víṣṇoḥ krámo ’si sapatná-hā́ kṛṣí-saṃśitó ’nna-tejāḥ | kṛṣím ánu ví krame ’háṃ kṛṣyā́s táṃ nír-bhajāmo yó ’smā́n dvéṣṭi yáṃ vayáṃ dvíṣmaḥ | sá mā́ jī́vit táṃ prāṇó jahātu
Thou art the stride of Viṣṇu, a slayer of rivals, whetted by the tillage, possessed of food’s splendour. Along the husbandry I stride forth; from the field we sunder and cast away that man who hateth us, whom we in turn do hate. Let him not live: let breath abandon him.
তুমি বিষ্ণুর ক্রম—সপত্নহন; কৃষি (চাষ/জোত) দ্বারা শাণিত, অন্ন-তেজে দীপ্ত। আমি কৃষির অনুসরণ করে অগ্রসর হই; ক্ষেত/কৃষির শক্তিতে আমরা সেই ব্যক্তিকে বিচ্ছিন্ন করে দূরে নিক্ষেপ করি, যে আমাদের দ্বেষ করে, এবং যাকে আমরাও দ্বেষ করি। সে যেন বেঁচে না থাকে; তার প্রাণ তাকে ত্যাগ করুক।
