Sukta 3
यथा सूर्यो अतिभाति यथास्मिन् तेज आहितम्। एवा मे वरणो मणिः कीर्तिं भूतिं नि यच्छतु तेजसा मा समुक्षतु यशसा समनक्तु मा
yáthā sū́ryo atibhā́ti yáthāsmín téja ā́hitam | evā́ me varuṇó maṇíḥ kī́rtiṃ bhū́tiṃ ní yacchatu téjasā mā́ samúkṣatu yáśasā sám anak tu mā ||
As the Sun shines forth surpassingly, as splendour is deposited in this,—even so may for me Varuṇa’s amulet establish fame and thriving; with brilliance may it thoroughly bathe me, with glory may it wholly anoint me.
যেমন সূর্য অতিশয় দীপ্ত হয়ে জ্বলে, যেমন এতে তেজ স্থাপিত আছে—তেমনি আমার জন্য বরুণের এই মণি/তাবিজ খ্যাতি ও সমৃদ্ধি স্থির করুক; তেজে আমাকে সম্পূর্ণ স্নাত করুক, যশে আমাকে সর্বতোভাবে অভিষিক্ত করুক।
