दण्डपारुष्याच्च तमेव दोषमन्येभ्यः प्राप्नोति ॥ कZ_०८.३.३६ ॥
daṇḍapāruṣyācca tameva doṣam anyebhyaḥ prāpnoti
দণ্ডের কঠোরতা/অতিরিক্ত দমনপ্রয়োগের ফলে সে অন্যদের উপর যে দোষ আরোপ করে, সেই একই দোষ নিজেই বহন করে।
A ruler who uses excessive cruelty in punishment undermines justice and becomes morally/legally tainted—effectively sharing the offender’s fault.
Danda must be proportionate and rule-bound; when danda becomes pāruṣya (cruelty), it turns from governance into wrongdoing.
