FAQs

This is a colophon marking the completion of a teaching unit; in Shaiva tradition, such closure sanctifies the recitation and encourages śravaṇa (hearing) and manana (reflection) as a complete practice.

While it does not describe a ritual directly, it signals the end of an Adhyaya within the Vidyeśvara-saṃhitā, a section especially associated with foundational Shaiva worship such as devotion to Śiva in accessible (saguṇa) forms including the Liṅga.

A practical takeaway is to conclude study with a mindful pause, offering the merit to Śiva and mentally repeating the Pañcākṣarī (“Om Namaḥ Śivāya”) to seal the recitation.
