Brahmā–Viṣṇu Garva-vādaḥ
The Dispute of Pride Between Brahmā and Viṣṇu
इति श्रीशिवमहापुराणे विद्येश्वरसंहितायां षष्ठोऽध्यायः
iti śrīśivamahāpurāṇe vidyeśvarasaṃhitāyāṃ ṣaṣṭho'dhyāyaḥ
এইদৰে শ্ৰীশিৱ মহাপুৰাণৰ বিদ্যেশ্বৰ-সংহিতাৰ ষষ্ঠ অধ্যায় সমাপ্ত হ’ল।
Suta Goswami (traditional narrator/reciter concluding the chapter)
Mantra: iti śrīśivamahāpurāṇe vidyeśvarasaṃhitāyāṃ ṣaṣṭho'dhyāyaḥ
This is a colophon marking the completion of a teaching unit; in Shaiva tradition, such closure sanctifies the recitation and encourages śravaṇa (hearing) and manana (reflection) as a complete practice.
While it does not describe a ritual directly, it signals the end of an Adhyaya within the Vidyeśvara-saṃhitā, a section especially associated with foundational Shaiva worship such as devotion to Śiva in accessible (saguṇa) forms including the Liṅga.
A practical takeaway is to conclude study with a mindful pause, offering the merit to Śiva and mentally repeating the Pañcākṣarī (“Om Namaḥ Śivāya”) to seal the recitation.
