It highlights that Shaiva devotion is not only inner contemplation but also expressed outwardly through generous giving (dāna) and sacred celebration (utsava), which purifies the mind and strengthens bhakti toward Shiva.
The verse describes a communal worship atmosphere—offerings, charity, and devotional music—typical of Saguna Shiva worship where the Lord is honored through visible rites around the Linga and temple festivities.
Perform dāna as part of Shiva-pūjā and accompany worship with devotional singing (kīrtana) and instruments; as a simple practice, chant the Panchakshara “Om Namaḥ Śivāya” during festival worship and offerings.
