The verse emphasizes bhakti expressed as humble surrender (praṇāma) and steady obedience to Śiva’s ājñā; in Shaiva Siddhānta, such alignment with Pati (Śiva) purifies the pashu (soul) and stabilizes the mind toward grace.
It reflects Saguna devotion—approaching Śiva as the personal Lord who gives guidance; Linga-worship similarly culminates in receiving and living by Śiva’s will, not merely performing external rites.
A practical takeaway is to begin worship with praṇāma and bhakti, then mentally accept Śiva’s ājñā—e.g., japa of “Om Namaḥ Śivāya” and sitting steadily in a clean, proper place (su-sthāna) with a pleased, concentrated mind.
