Brahma
Tattva Level: pashu
Significance: Illustrates devas acting under limited knowledge and agenda (tirodhāna over jīvas), setting up the narrative that ultimately highlights Śiva’s supremacy and grace.
It highlights disciplined divine conduct: even the Devas deliberate, seek consensus, and take proper leave before action—reflecting humility and alignment with dharma under the guiding principle of Guru-tattva.
In Shaiva Siddhanta, approach to Saguna Shiva (worshipful, gracious Lord) is guided by right instruction; this verse emphasizes that sacred action proceeds under guidance and permission—an attitude central to orderly Linga worship and temple discipline.
Adopt sankalpa and respectful permission-taking (ācāra): begin worship with remembrance of the Guru and Lord Shiva, then proceed with mantra-japa (e.g., Om Namaḥ Śivāya) with a composed, deliberate mind.
