Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Sadāśiva
Role: teaching
It presents Śiva (Pati) as perfectly self-luminous and self-established—untainted by māyā (nirañjana), beyond deceptive appearances (nirābhāsa), and eternally unchanged (nirvikāra). For the seeker, it points to liberation through inward contemplation of the Lord as the pure Self, free from sorrow (nirāmaya).
While the Liṅga is a saguna support for worship and concentration, this verse reveals the liṅga’s ultimate referent: Śiva’s nirguṇa reality—stainless and changeless. Devotional worship matures into inner dhyāna where the mind rests in the Lord beyond form and mental projections.
A dhyāna practice: withdraw attention inward and contemplate Śiva as nirañjana and nirvikāra. As a Shaiva Purana-aligned support, repeat the Pañcākṣarī (Om Namaḥ Śivāya) with steady breath, and, if observing Shaiva discipline, apply tripuṇḍra (bhasma) and use rudrākṣa to stabilize japa and meditation.
