देवा ऊचुः । भगवञ्छ्रूयतोमेतद्वचनं नश्शुभं प्रभो । कृपां कृत्वा महेशान शरणागतवत्सल

দেৱসকলে ক’লে—হে ভগৱান, হে প্ৰভো, আমাৰ এই মঙ্গলময় নিবেদন শুনক। হে মহেশান, শৰণাগতবৎসল, কৃপা কৰি আমাক ৰক্ষা কৰক।

Significance: Models śaraṇāgati (taking refuge) as the core pilgrim-attitude: approaching Śiva as śaraṇāgatavatsala to obtain protection and auspiciousness.
Type: stotra
Role: liberating
It highlights śaraṇāgati (taking refuge) as a direct path to Shiva’s anugraha (grace): when beings admit limitation and appeal sincerely, the Lord who is śaraṇāgata-vatsala responds with protection and upliftment.
The Devas address Shiva personally as Prabhu and Maheśāna—Saguna Shiva who hears prayers. In Linga-worship too, the devotee approaches the manifest Lord with reverence, requesting grace and refuge.
A simple practice is heartfelt surrender while repeating the Panchākṣarī—“Om Namaḥ Śivāya”—and offering water to the Shiva-Linga, praying for Shiva’s kṛpā (compassion) and protection.
