Dialogue of Kāma and Śakra
Indra
jayārthaṃ me dvayaṃ tāta nirmitaṃ vajamuttamam | vajraṃ ca niṣphalaṃ syādvai tvaṃ tu naiva kadācana
Parvati
Tattva Level: pashu
Shakti Form: Pārvatī
Role: nurturing
Offering: pushpa
The verse emphasizes that worldly instruments of power can fail, but divine grace and the devotee’s consecrated purpose—supported by Śakti—should remain unwavering; true “victory” is steadiness in dharma and devotion that leads the soul toward Shiva.
In Shaiva practice, worship of Saguna Shiva through the Linga trains the mind toward single-pointedness; this verse echoes that inner firmness—more reliable than external force—arises from devotion blessed by Parvati and culminates in Shiva’s grace.
Adopt steady japa of the Panchakshara mantra (“Om Namaḥ Śivāya”) with disciplined worship (archana) and Tripuṇḍra/bhasma as reminders of impermanence—cultivating the unfailing resolve praised in the verse.
