Sukta 10.124

Rishi: Traditionally attributed in Anukramaṇī to a seer of RV 10.124; exact attribution varies by tradition.
Devata: Agni (implicit through araṇī/nābhi imagery) and the movement from adeva to deva (divinization).
Chandas: Triṣṭubh.

अदेवाद्देवः प्रचता गुहा यन्प्रपश्यमानो अमृतत्वमेमि । शिवं यत्सन्तमशिवो जहामि स्वात्सख्यादरणीं नाभिमेमि ॥

adévād deváḥ prácatā guhā́ yán prápáśyamāno amṛtatvám emi | śiváṁ yát sántam áśivo jahā́mi svā́t sakhyā́d áraṇīṁ nā́bhim emi ||

অদেৱৰ পৰা দেৱলৈ মই যাওঁ—প্ৰচেতা শক্তিৰে চলি, গুহাৰ গোপন গহ্বৰত যাত্ৰা কৰি; আগলৈ দেখা-দেখি মই অমৃতত্ব লাভ কৰোঁ। শিৱ যেন লাগিলেও যি অশিৱ, তাক ত্যাগ কৰোঁ; পুৰণি সখ্যৰ পৰা সৰি, মই অৰণীলৈ—নাভি-উৎসলৈ যাওঁ, য’ত অগ্নি জন্মে।
