Dāna: Types, Recipients, Timing, and Fruits

नित्यं नैमित्तिकं काम्यं त्रिविधं दानमुच्यते । चतुर्थं विमलं प्रोक्तं सर्वदानोत्तमोत्तमम्

nityaṃ naimittikaṃ kāmyaṃ trividhaṃ dānamucyate | caturthaṃ vimalaṃ proktaṃ sarvadānottamottamam

দান তিন প্ৰকাৰ বুলি কোৱা হৈছে: নিত্য (দৈনিক), নৈমিত্তিক (বিশেষ কাল/ক্ৰিয়াত), আৰু কাম্য (ইচ্ছিত ফলৰ বাবে)। চতুৰ্থ ‘বিমল’—শুদ্ধ দান—সকলো দানৰ ভিতৰত সৰ্বোত্তম বুলি ঘোষিত।
