Narada
Vrata: none
Primary Rasa: shanta
Secondary Rasa: vira
It presents a dharmic mapping of attainable fruits for each varna, highlighting that even beyond worldly aims, the spiritually elevating gain is satsanga—association with devotees of Viṣṇu.
Bhakti is emphasized through “viṣṇu-bhakta-samāgama”: the verse implies that devotion grows and becomes accessible through the company of Viṣṇu’s devotees, making satsanga itself a key means and fruit.
The verse points to Vedic learning as the brāhmaṇa’s hallmark (veda-vitvān), implying study and preservation of śruti and its disciplines; it does not specify a single Vedāṅga, but aligns broadly with śāstra-study traditions (especially śikṣā and vyākaraṇa as supports for Veda recitation and comprehension).
