इस प्रकार श्रीमह्याभारत विराटपर्वके अन्तर्गत गोहरणपर्वमें उत्तरगोग्रहके समय कर्णका युद्ध पलायनविषयक चौवनवाँ अध्याय पूरा हुआ
iti prakāraṃ śrīmahābhārate virāṭaparvaṇi antar-gata-goharaṇaparvaṇi uttaragograha-samaye karṇasya yuddha-palāyana-viṣayakaś catuḥpañcāśattamo 'dhyāyaḥ samāptaḥ | yastu nīlānusāreṇa pañcatāreṇa ketunā | hastāvāpī bṛhaddhanvā rathe tiṣṭhati vīryavān |
বৈশম্পায়ন ক’লে—এইদৰে শ্ৰীমহাভাৰতৰ বিরাটপৰ্বৰ অন্তৰ্গত গোহৰণপৰ্বত, উত্তৰৰ গোগ্ৰহণৰ সময়ত কৰ্ণৰ যুদ্ধ-পলায়নৰ বৰ্ণনাসহ চুয়ান্নতম অধ্যায় সমাপ্ত হ’ল। এতিয়া যি মহাবীৰ নীল বৰ্ণৰ, পাঁচ তাৰাৰ চিহ্নযুক্ত পতাকাবাহী ৰথত অৱস্থিত—হাতত ৰক্ষাকবচ/দস্তানা পৰিধান কৰি, বৃহৎ ধনু ধৰি, দিৱ্য চিহ্নে বিচিত্ৰ ধ্বজে শোভিত, মস্তকত উজ্জ্বল শ্বেত ছত্ৰধাৰী, সূৰ্য-চন্দ্ৰসম দীপ্ত স্বৰ্ণকবচ আৰু স্বৰ্ণ শিৰস্ত্ৰাণে জ্যোতিৰ্ময়—সেইজন শান্তনুনন্দন ভীষ্ম, আমাৰ সকলোৰে পিতামহ, ৰথীসকলৰ মাজত শ্ৰেষ্ঠ। কিন্তু ৰাজ্যলক্ষ্মীৰে সমৃদ্ধ হ’লেও দুৰ্যোধনৰ অধীনত থাকি মোৰ মন শোকে সন্তপ্ত কৰে।
