Dharma-pratyabhijñāna and Vara-pradāna (धर्मप्रत्यभिज्ञानम्—वरप्रदानम्)
अद्य तद् दिवसं चेति हुत्वा दीप्तं हुताशनम् । युगमात्रोदिते सूर्ये कृत्वा पौर्वाह्निकी: क्रिया:,दूसरे दिन यह सोचकर कि आज ही वह दिन है, उसने सूर्यदेवके चार हाथ ऊपर उठते- उठते पूर्वाह्नकालके सब कृत्य पूरे कर लिये और प्रज्वलित अग्निमें आहुति दी
adya tad divasaṃ ceti hutvā dīptaṃ hutāśanam | yugamātrodite sūrye kṛtvā paurvāhṇikīḥ kriyāḥ ||
মাৰ্কণ্ডেয় ক’লে—“আজিয়েই সেই দিন” বুলি ভাবি তাই জ্বলি থকা হুতাশনত আহুতি দিলে। সূৰ্য অলপতে উঠোঁতেই তাই পূৰ্বাহ্নৰ সকলো নিৰ্ধাৰিত ক্ৰিয়া সম্পূৰ্ণ কৰিলে।”
