teṣāṃ śrāddhāni deyāni śrutvā bhārata bhāratam | brāhmaṇebhyo yathāśaktyā bhaktyā ca bharatarṣabha ||
বৈশম্পায়নে ক’লে—হে ভৰতবংশীয়! এই ভাৰতকথা শুনি তেওঁলোকৰ উদ্দেশে শ্ৰাদ্ধ দিব লাগে; আৰু হে ভৰতশ্ৰেষ্ঠ, নিজৰ সামৰ্থ্য অনুসাৰে ব্ৰাহ্মণসকলক ভক্তিসহ দান দিব লাগে।
वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse links hearing the Bhārata narrative with ethical action: one should honor the departed through śrāddha and support worthy recipients (Brāhmaṇas) with gifts given within one’s means, performed with devotion rather than display.
Vaiśaṃpāyana addresses a Bharata-descended listener, prescribing a concluding religious-ethical response to the heard account: perform śrāddha for those concerned and give offerings to Brāhmaṇas according to capacity, emphasizing bhakti.
