Triviṣṭapa
यत्कृते पृथिवी नष्टा सहया सनरद्विपा । वयं च मन्युना दग्धा वैरं प्रतिचिकीर्षव:
yatkṛte pṛthivī naṣṭā sahayā sa-nara-dvipā | vayaṃ ca manyunā dagdhā vairaṃ praticikīrṣavaḥ ||
“হে দেবর্ষি! যাৰ কাৰণে ঘোঁৰা-হাতী-মানুহসহ পৃথিৱী ধ্বংস হ’ল, আৰু যাৰ বৈৰৰ প্ৰতিশোধ ল’বলৈ ইচ্ছা কৰি আমিও ক্ৰোধাগ্নিত দগ্ধ হ’লোঁ।”
वैशग्पायन उवाच
The verse highlights how a single feud can consume an entire world: vengeance (vaira) and anger (manyu) do not remain private emotions but become forces that destroy societies, armies, and moral clarity.
Vaiśaṃpāyana narrates a reflection on the catastrophic war: the speaker recalls that the earth was devastated with its people and war-animals, and that the protagonists themselves were driven and scorched by wrath while seeking retaliation for enmity.
