ब्राह्मण उवाच
The verse praises dharmic excellence through two ideals: learning guided by discernment (buddhi-śāstra) and universal hospitality (sarvātithi). True nobility is shown by welcoming others and embodying desirable virtues.
A brāhmaṇa introduces or commends a particular nāga, describing him as an exemplary figure—learned, wise, and renowned for honoring guests—thereby establishing his moral stature within the discourse of Śānti Parva.
