चारित्रमात्मन: पश्यंश्रन्द्रशुद्धमनामयम् । धर्मात्मा लभते कीर्ति प्रेत्य चेह यथासुखम्
cāritram ātmanaḥ paśyañ chandraśuddham anāmayam | dharmātmā labhate kīrtiṁ pretya ceha yathāsukham ||
যিয়ে নিজৰ সদাচাৰক চন্দ্ৰমাৰ দৰে বিশুদ্ধ, উজ্জ্বল আৰু কলুষহীন বুলি চায়, সেই ধৰ্মাত্মাই ইহলোক আৰু পৰলোক—উভয়তে কীৰ্তি আৰু যথোচিত উত্তম সুখ লাভ কৰে।
भीष्म उवाच
Moral self-examination and purity of conduct—likened to the moon’s spotless brightness—lead to enduring benefits: good reputation and genuine happiness, both in this life and beyond.
