आयुश्च तस्माल्लेभे तं नहुषश्च ततो भुवि । ययातिर्नहुषाच्चापि पूरुस्तस्माच्च लब्धवान्‌,पुरूरवासे आयुने, आयुसे नहुषने, नहुषसे ययातिने और ययातिसे पूरुने इस भूतलपर वह खड़ग प्राप्त किया

āyuś ca tasmāl lebhe taṃ nahuṣaś ca tato bhuvi | yayātir nahuṣāc cāpi pūrus tasmāc ca labdhavān ||

ভীষ্মে ক’লে—তেওঁৰ পৰা আয়ুৱে সেই (খড়্গ) লাভ কৰিলে; তাৰ পাছত এই ভূৱনত নহুষেও তাক গ্ৰহণ কৰিলে। নহুষৰ পৰা যযাতি আৰু যযাতিৰ পৰা পুৰুৱে তাক পালে। এইদৰে অস্ত্ৰটি ধৰ্মনিষ্ঠ ৰাজবংশত পৰম্পৰাৰে চলি আহিল—ৰাজ্যশক্তি আৰু ৰাজদণ্ড কেৱল বলৰ দ্বাৰা নহয়, ধৰ্মসঙ্গত উত্তৰাধিকাৰ ৰূপে অর্পিত ন্যাস বুলি সূচিত কৰে।
