Mutual Causality of Ignorance and Greed
करिष्ये धर्ममेवेति तृतीयात् परिमुच्यते । शुचिस्तीर्थान्यनुचरन् बहुत्वात्परिमुच्यते
kariṣye dharmam eveti tṛtīyāt parimucyate | śucis tīrthāny anucaran bahutvāt parimucyate ||
“আজিৰ পৰা কেৱল ধৰ্মেই আচৰণ কৰিম”—এনে ব্ৰত গ্ৰহণ কৰিলে মানুহ পাপৰ তৃতীয় পুনৰাবৃত্তিৰ পৰা মুক্ত হয়। আৰু যি শুচি হৈ তীৰ্থসমূহ অনুগমন কৰি ভ্ৰমণ কৰে, সি তীৰ্থৰ বহুলতাৰ বলত বহু অৱসৰত সঞ্চিত অসংখ্য পাপৰ পৰাও মুক্তি লাভ কৰে।
शौनक उवाच
A firm resolve to live by dharma, together with purity and pilgrimage to sacred tīrthas, is presented as a means of moral and spiritual purification—capable of releasing one from repeated or accumulated wrongdoing.
Śaunaka states a doctrinal point about expiation: taking a vow to follow dharma and undertaking tīrtha-travel while maintaining purity are described as practices that free a person from recurring and numerous sins.
