The verse highlights the epic’s ethic of kṣatriya warfare: mastery of skill and unwavering resolve are portrayed as decisive forces that bring about an opponent’s destined end, underscoring how action (karma) in battle culminates in irreversible consequence.
Sañjaya reports a warrior’s confident declaration of archery prowess: lightning-bright arrows released from the famed bow Gāṇḍīva are said to bring Karṇa to his ‘supreme end’—i.e., to his final fate on the battlefield.
