Karṇa’s Bhārgavāstra and the Search for Yudhiṣṭhira

Chapter 45

Educational Q&A

Śalya urges sober realism over self-deception: empty talk may soothe pride, but wise action requires accepting battlefield truth and choosing a feasible strategy rather than clinging to an impossible aim.

In the Karṇa Parva war setting, Śalya addresses Karṇa with sharp counsel, dismissing boastful plans about killing Arjuna and warning that Arjuna cannot be overcome in direct combat, advising Karṇa to adopt another plan.
