Duryodhana’s Armor and the Tactical Reassessment
प्राप्स्यते चाप्पसौ पाप: सैन्धवो बालघातक: । अस्यावलेपस्य फलं ससुहृद्गणबान्धव:,वरारोहे! बालककी हत्या करानेवाला वह पापकर्मा पापी सिंधुराज जयद्रथ रात बीतनेपर प्रातःकाल होते ही अपने सुहृदों और बन्धु-बान्धवोंसहित इस अपराधका फल पायेगा। वह अमरावतीपुरीमें जाकर छिप जाय तो भी अर्जुनके हाथसे उसका छुटकारा नहीं होगा
prāpsyate cāpsu saḥ pāpaḥ saindhavo bālaghātakaḥ | asyāvalepasya phalaṃ sa-suhṛd-gaṇa-bāndhavaḥ, varārohe |
বৰাৰোহে! বালঘাতক সেই পাপী সৈন্ধৱ (জয়দ্ৰথ) জলে নিজৰ অন্ত পাবে। সুৱহৃদগণ আৰু বান্ধৱ-বান্ধৱসহ সি এই দম্ভৰ ফল ভোগ কৰিব।
वायुदेव उवाच
Arrogance (avalepa) and grievous wrongdoing—especially violence against the innocent—inevitably yield consequences (phala). Status, allies, or even divine cities cannot shield one from the moral and karmic outcome of one’s acts.
Vāyudeva foretells that Jayadratha (the Saindhava), branded here as a child-slayer, will soon receive the result of his pride and crime, along with his supporters, and that he will not be able to escape Arjuna even by hiding in Amarāvatī.
