Adhyāya 42 — Mahābhūta–Indriya–Adhyātma-Vyavasthā

Brahmā’s Instruction on Elements and Faculties

जातस्याध्ययन पुण्यमिति वृद्धानुशासनम्‌ | कर्मके अनेक भेद हैं

jātasya adhyayanaṁ puṇyam iti vṛddhānuśāsanam | karmake aneka bhedāḥ santi, teṣu pūjā dānaṁ ca yajñe havanaṁ ca—ete pradhānāḥ | vṛddha-puruṣāṇāṁ kathanaṁ yat dvija-kule utpannasya puruṣasya veda-adhyayanaṁ api puṇyasya karma |

বায়ুদেৱে ক’লে—বৃদ্ধসকলৰ অনুশাসন এই যে, (দ্বিজকুলত) জন্ম লোৱা পুৰুষৰ বাবে অধ্যয়নো পুণ্য। কৰ্মৰ বহু ভেদ আছে; তাত পূজা, দান আৰু যজ্ঞত হৱি অৰ্পণ কৰাই প্রধান। তথাপি বিদ্বানসকলে মানে যে দ্বিজবংশত জন্ম লোৱা পুৰুষৰ বাবে বেদৰ নিয়মিত অধ্যয়নো পুণ্যকৰ্ম।
