ब्राह्मण उवाच
Each sense faculty has a specific object: sound belongs to hearing alone. Recognizing these boundaries supports right discernment and prevents confusion between perception, mental construction, and true knowledge.
A brāhmaṇa is explaining how perception works by distinguishing the functions of the senses and inner faculties, using sound as an example to show that only the ear apprehends it.
