Cyavana’s Yogic Display and Kuśika’s Recognition of Tapas (च्यवन-योगप्रभावः कुशिकस्य तपःप्रशंसा च)
भरतभूषण! तब वे महापराक्रमी भूपाल राजा नहुष प्रसन्न होकर बोले--“बस, आपलोगोंकी कृपा ही बहुत है' ।।
tato jagrāha dharme sa sthitim indranibho nṛpaḥ | tatheti coditaḥ prītastāvṛṣī pratyapūjayat ||
তেতিয়া ইন্দ্ৰসম দীপ্তিমান নৃপতিয়ে ধৰ্মত স্থিৰ হৈ থাকিবলৈ বৰ বিচাৰিলে। দুয়ো ঋষিয়ে প্ৰসন্ন হৈ “তথাস্তु” বুলি অনুমোদন দিলে। তাতে আনন্দিত ৰজাই বিধিপূৰ্বক দুয়ো ঋষিক পূজা-সন্মান কৰিলে।
भीष्म उवाच
The highest boon for a ruler is not power or pleasure but unwavering stability in dharma; ethical steadfastness is portrayed as the foundation of legitimate kingship, and gratitude toward spiritual mentors is part of that dharma.
King Nahuṣa, urged by two sages to ask a boon, chooses ‘steadfastness in dharma.’ The sages grant it with ‘tathāstu/ tatheti,’ and the king, pleased, performs proper worship and honours them.
